A Pathway to Higher Education

Health Science

Health Science is an academically challenging program for students interested in undergraduate studies in areas such as medicine, pharmacy, and dentistry. Students with a strong background and interest in Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and who have a curious mind are encouraged to apply.

Semester 1: English, Chemistry, prerequisite Biology 11, Advanced Functions
Semester 2: Biology, Physics, Calculus

Admission Requirements: Advanced Grade 11 Math, Grade 11 Chemistry, Grade 11 Physics

Computer Science & Engineering

This is an academically challenging program for scientifically inclined students. Students with a strong background in Math, Physics, and Chemistry are encouraged to apply. This is the ideal program for students interested in science-related undergraduate degrees such as Life Sciences, Medicine, Engineering, Computer Science, and Architecture.

Semester 1: English, Chemistry, Advanced Functions, Computer Science I
Semester 2: Calculus, Physics, Computer Science II

Admission Requirements: Advanced Grade 11 Math, Grade 11 Chemistry, Grade 11 Physics in Springboard.

Commerce

Students in the Commerce program will be exposed to ideas about how to understand financial, economic, and historical issues that have affected the world, providing them with a strong foundation for higher studies in this field. This program is ideal for students interested in undergraduate degrees in Management, International Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, and Actuarial Science.

Semester 1: English, Advanced Functions, Economics, course option (Computer Science, World History, Families in Canada)
Semester 2: Calculus, Business, Nutrition or Challenges and Changes in Society

Admission Requirements: Advanced Grade 11 Math (summer bridge course is available).

Social Sciences

The Social Sciences stream at Kells offers students a breadth of courses in the humanities, social science, and creative writing. Students who are interested in Bachelor of Arts programs such as Journalism, Sociology, Literature, History, Creative Writing, Law, or Political Science are encouraged to take this stream. It will allow them to choose two independent study courses that are best suited for their interests. Under the full guidance and mentoring of a Kells teacher, students will learn how to express their own individual thoughts and ideas as they progress through these critical-thinking courses.

Semester 1: English, Families in Canada, Writer's Craft, History or Economics
Semester 2: Challenges and Changes in Society, Nutrition, Business

Admission Requirements: Strong English language skills
