A student’s support needs can be as individual as their learning capability. Kells Elementary provides support that anticipates the needs and embraces a student’s issues in keeping with his or her individualized learning program. Adaptation and modification to the program, as well as, enrichment, is provided within the differentiated classroom.Teaching facilitators work with small groups of students on a rotational basis, further reducing the teacher-student ratio. The homeroom teacher acting as mentor, establishes a mutually respectful relationship, and is in frequent communication with home. The Peer Mediation Program, engages volunteer student Peace Ambassadors, as mediators or conflict resolvers, under teacher supervision.
